between Pageant Point and Gourlay Point, Gourlay Peninsula (q.v.), Signy Island, is the site of a BAS refuge hut, established in 1961-62 and called "Gourlay Hut". Following biological work by BAS up to 1973, the haven was so named from the prominent rock near the entrance (APC, 1975, p.5; DOS 210 Signy Island sheet, 2-DOS 1975).
