W-most part of Cape Legoupil, Trinity Peninsula, was named Península Capitán Schmidt by CAE, 1947-48, after Capt. Hugo Schmidt Prado, of the Chilean Army, first Commander of the Chilean station "Bernardo O'Higgins" established here in 1948 (Cape Legoupil, q.v.) (Chile. DNH chart 503, 1948).
