SSE of Arthur Harbour, S Anvers island, following the work of USARP personnel from "Palmer Station" from 1965, was so named because the narrow channel between it and the main island provides a short cut by water between the station and Biscoe Bay (APC, 1975, p.5; BA, 1976, p.3).
