shoal with least depth 4m, NW of Collins Point, Port Foster, Deception Island, was charted by an RN Hydrographic Survey Unit from John Biscoe, 1948-49, and named after Port Stanley, Falkland Islands (BA chart 3202, 23.ix.1949; APC, 1955, p.20). Banco Stacy, so called by AAE after Tte Roberto Stacy (d. 1814), of the Argentine Navy, who was killed aboard the frigate Hercules at the battle of Martín García in 1814 (Argentina. MM chart 100, 1953; Pierrou, 1970, p.671). Banco Stanley, as rejected name (Argentina. MM, 1957b, p.10).
