Stride (1927-58), FIDS Diesel mechanic, "Horseshoe Island", 1958, who with S.E. Black (Black Pass, q.v.) and D. Statham (Statham Peak, q.v.) was lost between Horseshoe Island and Dion Islands in May 1958, when sea ice broke up; he served as cook with FIDASE, 1956-57 (APC, 1982, p.3).
