Narrative

SW-most feature of Shackleton Range, rising to c.1150 m, was surveyed by TAE in December 1957 and so named because it marked the begin- ning of a badly crevassed area of Recovery Glacier through which TAE vehicles had to pass on the way to the South Pole (APC, 1962, p.32; DOS 610 sheet W 80 28/30, 1963).
