Merritt, American observer with AAE, 1958-59, after his sons, Blythe, Brett, Barry and Bruce (Merritt, 1959, p.434); following geological work in the area by BAS, 1978-79, named Windscoop Nunataks from the windscoops associated with each (APC, 1986, p.4).
