off SE coast of Lavoisier Island, Biscoe Islands, was photographed from the air by FIDASE, 1956-57; in association with the names of pioneers of cold-climate physiology grouped in this area, named after Charles Edward Amory Winslow (1877-1957), American physiologist who specialized in the reactions of the human body to cold environments; Professor of Public Health, Yale Medical School, New Haven, Conn., 1915-45 (APC, 1960, p.8). There is a small penguin rookery on the rock, which provides the only known landing place on the E side of the island.
