This name originates from Italy. It is part of the Italy Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Rocks outcrop clearly visible in the middle of Tourmaline Plateau; it reaches an elevation of some meters and has an extension of about 10 square m. Discovered by R. Sarao and C. Giudici in January 1990 and named after Roberto Sarao, skilful PNRA engineer, member of 5 Italian expeditions, who suffered an accident on this outcrop during 1993-94 expedition.
