This name originates from Japan. It is part of the Japan Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Southeastern one (2341.2 m asl.) of two small rock exposures 13 km southeast of Mont Gaston de Gerlache, the southern part of Yamato Sanmyaku. Surveyed by JARE in 1969, and named Motoi Iwa (base rock).
