This name originates from Japan. It is part of the Japan Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A small island lying midway from Syowa Station to Tottuki Misaki. Mapped by Norwegian cartographers from air photos taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition, 1936-37. Surveyed by JARE in 1957, and named Naka-zima (middle island).
