A nunatak in the Grosvenor Mountains 20 miles south-west of the head of the Shackleton Glacier 20 miles south of Mt Pratt. It has an elevation of 2700m. Discovered by the Byrd AE, 1929-30, when Byrd was on his flight to the South Pole in November 1929. Named by Byrd at that time for William Block, son of Paul Block, patron of the expedition. Formerly known as Mt William Block.
