A bluff on the east side of the high plateau lying west of Bridge Pass which affords the only route between the Nimrod Glacier and Beaumont Bay. Approximately 2100m high. Named by the Southern Party of the NZGSAE, 1960-61, after one of the stars (Centauri) frequently used to fix survey stations.
