A range of rugged mountains, bordering the eastern side of Beardmore Glacier, north of Keltie Glacier, near the head of the Ross Ice Shelf. Discovered by the Southern Polar Party of the BAE 1907-09, in December 1908. Named by Shackleton for the Commonweath of Australia, which so generously aided the expedition. Peaks in this range include Mts Usher, Deakin, Patrick, Cyril, Kyffin, Harcourt, Scott, Kathleen, and Flat Top. Flat Top, about 4000m high, is the highest point in the range.
