Partly in the Ross Dependency and partly in Australian territory, this large snow-covered plateau on the east side of the lower Marsh Glacier covers 150 square miles in area. Named by the Northern Party of the NZGSAE, 1961-62, after Sir Charles Cotton, famous NZ geomorphologist and authority on glacial landforms.
