It flows southwest to coalesce with the east margin of Terror Glacier where the two glaciers enter Fog Bay between Vee Cliffs to the west and Terror Point to the east. In association with the names of expedition ships grouped on this island, named after USCGC Eastwind. An icebreaker, she made nine Antarctic deployments in support of science activities from U.S. Navy (USN) Operation Deep Freeze (OpDFrz), 1955-56, through the 1966-67 season.
