A mountain with a bare summit rising to c. 2,600 m, at the head of Shipley Glacier, 4.5 mi (8.5km) N of Mount Adam in the Admiralty Mountains, Victoria Land. Visited in 1981-82 by Bradley Field, geologist, NZGS, who suggested the name because the area provided excellent views of dawns and sunsets. In Greek mythology, Eos is the goddess of dawn.
