A col separting Crater and Observation Hills at the southern end of Hut Point Peninsula on Ross Island. Charted and given this descriptive name by the NAE, 1901-04. Sledge parties of this expedition traversed the southern end of the peninsula via this low-level passage. It is used as the main route between Scott Base and Williams Airopfac at Hut Point.
