Narrative

A rocky peak at the end of a ridge forming the eastern wall of the Leigh Hunt Glacier. Surveyed and named by the Southern Party of the NZGSAE, 1961-62, for C H Hare a member of Scott's NAE, 1901-04, who wintered over in the "Discovery" in 1902 and nearly lost his life on the first sledging journey of the expedition. A New Zealander, he joined the expedition at Lyttelton.
