The irregular, mainly ice-free striking expanse of fluted snow patches and glaciers and wind-ridged heights, which rise to c. 2,000m at the S side of the head of Towle Valley, in the Convoy Range, Victoria Land. The name was applied by a 1989-90 NZARP field party to describe the windy aspect of this upland area.
