A peak about 2100 metres high, on the northern end of the Millen Range. Named by the Southern Party of the NZFMCAE, 1962-63, because it contained the granite/greywacke contact, with baking of the sedimentary rock imparting a reddish colour to the peak, which has therefore a geological insignificance.
