A small plateau which is snow-covered except for the Kappen Cliffs, an almost vertical rock scarp marking its southern side. Charted and named by the British Antarctic Expedition (Terra Nova expedition, BrAE), 1910-13. "Kar" is a Turkish word meaning "snow".
