This name originates from New Zealand. It is part of the New Zealand Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The southern entrance to Floyd Bennet Bay, on the west side of Bay of Whales, in the Ross Ice Shelf. Named for Charles L Lawrance by the Byrd AE, 1928-30. It has since disppeared because of the profound subsequent changes which have taken place in this area.
