A cape between Cape Goldie and Shackleton Inlet, forming the southern entrance point to the latter inlet, along the western edge of the Ross Ice Shelf. Discovered by the Southern Polar Party of the NAE, 1901-04, in December 1902. The expedition ship Discovery made the port of Lyttelton, New Zealand, its main base for the expedition, and very generous assistance was given by the Lyttelton Harbour Board and the citizens.
