A peak, about 610m high, standing north-west of Mt Helen Washington in the Rockefeller Mountains. Discovered and named by the Byrd AE, 1928-30, on 18 January 1929. Named for Captain Nilsen of the C A Larsen, the whaling ship which assisted the expedition by towing the City of New York through the pack ice to the Ross Sea.
