A conical hill, 220m high, surmounting Cape Armitage, at the south end of Hut Point Peninsula on Ross Island. Discovered by the NAE, 1901-04, and so named in February 1902 because it forms an excellent lookout station. It was on this hill that the memorial cross to Captain Scott and his companions was erected in January 1913.
