A conspicuous black peak, about 1200m high, standing on the north side of the Mackay Glacier about 1 1/2 miles west of the mouth of the Cleveland Glacier in Victoria Land. Charted and named by Taylor of the BAE, 1910-13. The name was given because it was a very useful peak as a zero point for theodolite angles.
