A long low nunatak in the Shackleton Glacier about 30 miles from the mouth and lying close to the eastern wall of the glacier. Surveyed and named by the Southern Party of the NZGSAE, 1961-62, for Thomas Taylor, surveyor with Dr C E Swithinbank's Glaciological Expeditions of 1960-61 and 1961-62, who worked for a short period during both summers near the mouth of the Shackleton Glacier.
