A small glacier entering the east side of the lower Skelton Glacier between Moraine Bluff and Red Dyke Bluff. The name was applied by mistake to the wrong feature in 1957. The glacier described by this name (Provisional Gazetteer of the Ross Dependency 1958, p 156) is a very minor feature, and no name is proposed for it. A descriptive name applied by the NZTAE, 1956-58, to this feaure, referring to an incident in January 1957 when an aircraft attempted to land on the exceedingly broken ice at the foot of the glacier.
