This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer.
A saltwater lagoon on Heard Island formed by the retreat of the Brown Glacier. In 1992 it was possible to walk along the moraine dam beside the lagoon from Fairchild Beach to Skua Beach. Named in association with the Brown Glacier which was named after K G Brown, a biologist with the 1951 ANARE Heard Island Expedition.
