This name originates from Norway. It is part of the Norway Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The area from Belgicafjella inclusive in the W to the E border of Dronning Maud Land. After the expedition ship "Thorshavn" used by the Lars Christensen expedition, 1936-37. The extent changed by letter from the Department of Industry 1973. Earlier the area was between Carsten Borchgrevinkisen and 45 degrees east in Dronning Maud Land.
