Narrative

Small island linked by a mainly submerged spit to the S shore of Discovery Bay, Greenwich Island, South Shetland Islands. Charted by the Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1947), under Capt. Federico Guesalaga Toro, and named for Juan Basso C., chief storekeeper on the ship Iquique of this expedition.
