An island lying 0.5 mi S of Magnetic Island and 2 mi W of Breidnes Peninsula, Vestfold Hills, in Prydz Bay. Mapped from air photos taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition, 1936-37. Remapped by ANARE (1957-58) and so named because the S end of the island is marked by a steep cliff face.
