A beach nearly a mile long at the S end of Beaufort Island, in the Ross Archipelago. The beach is occupied by a large Adelie penguin rookery and there is easy access from the sea when the coast is ice free. Named by the NZGSAE (1958-59) for Capt. John Cadwalader, USN, who encouraged and assisted the expedition in its Antarctic program, and also rendered valuable assistance to the N.Z. parties of the CTAE, 1956-58.
