Narrative

A glacier, 9 mi long, flowing northward from between Mount Edgell and Relay Hills into Wordie Ice Shelf, Fallieres Coast. Photographed from the air by the U.S. Navy, 1966, and surveyed by BAS, 1970-73. Named by US-ACAN after Cdr. Burford A. Carlson, USN, Staff Meteorologist, Naval Support Force, Antarctica, Operation Deep Freeze, 1970 and 1971.
