Group of rocks 2 mi S of Melsom Rocks and 7.5 mi WSW of Penguin Point, the NW tip of Coronation Island, in the South Orkney Islands. Discovered and named by Capt. Nathaniel B. Palmer, an American sealer in the sloop James Monroe, and Capt. George Powell, a British sealer in the sloop Dove, in the course of their joint cruise in December 1821.
