A prominent rocky hill (1,000 m) which marks the SE limit of Meridian Glacier at its junction with Clarke Glacier in southern Graham Land. First seen from the air and photographed by RARE, Nov. 1947. Surveyed by FIDS, Dec. 1958. Named by UK-APC after John Elton, English inventor of the artificial horizon and its application to quadrants and sextants, in 1732.
