The southernmost island of the Flat Islands, lying in the eastern part of Holme Bay. Mapped by Norwegian cartographers from aerial photographs taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition, 1936-37. Photographed from the air by USN Operation HighJump, 1946-47, and by ANARE. Visited by various ANARE parties between 1954 and 1959. Named by ANCA for D. Evans, diesel mechanic at Mawson Station, 1958.
