Point 2 mi NW of Palmer Bay on the N coast of Coronation Island, in the South Orkney Islands. First seen in December 1821 in the course of the joint cruise by Capt. George Powell, British sealer, and Capt. Nathaniel Palmer, American sealer, and roughly charted by Powell. Surveyed by the FIDS in 1956-58 and named by the UK-APC for Alexander G. Findlay (1812-1875), English geographer and hydrographer who compiled a long series of nautical directories and charts, including the South Orkney Islands.
