Lake 3 mi long, between Canada and Commonwealth Glaciers at the lower end of Taylor Valley in Victoria Land. Mapped by the BrAE under Scott, 1910-13. The lake was visited by Prof. T.L. Pewe during USN OpDFrz, 1957-58, and was named by him for Dr. Fritiof M. Fryxell, glacial geologist of Augustana College, Illinois.
