Narrative

A group of mountains about 25 mi long, between the Sverdrup and Muhlig-Hofmann Mountains in Queen Maud Land. First photographed from the air and roughly plotted by the GerAE (1938-39). Mapped in detail by Norwegian cartographers from surveys and air photos by NBSAE (1949-52) and air photos by the Norwegian expedition (1958-59). Named for Tore Gjelsvik, Director of Norsk Polarinstitutt.
