This name originates from United States of America. It is part of the United States Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Names that other countries have for this feature:
The N cape of Mawson Peninsula, George V Coast. Land was sighted in this area, Jan. 19, 1840, by Lt. William L. Hudson in the USS Peacock of the USEE (1838-42) under Wilkes, who applied the name Cape Hudson. An analysis by B.P. Lambert and P.G. Law of the USEE chart, and of the photographs taken by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47) and ANARE (1959), suggests that the N cape of Mawson Peninsula is Wilkes' Cape Hudson.
