The highest peak (1,600 m) in Mayer Crags, Queen Maud Mountains, standing 4 mi NW of Mount Ferguson. Named by US-ACAN for Derry D. Koob, USARP biologist at McMurdo Station in the 1964-65 and 1965-66 seasons.
