Feature type: Point (8)
This name originates from United States of America. It is part of the United States Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Names that other countries have for this feature:
Conspicuous headland on the shore of New Plymouth harbor, Byers Peninsula, Livingston Island. The feature was referred to in 1971 by Chilean researchers P.J. Hernandez P. and V. Azcarate M. as "Punta Campamento" (camp point). Both forms are already in use in the Antarctic. To avoid confusion, the UK-APC amended the name to Laager Point, "laager" meaning camp.
