This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A lake about 1 km SSW of Clear Lake on Mule Peninsula, Vestfold Hills. The lake was visited by an ANARE Biological and Geological party in January 1972 who found it to have unique layered deposits of the shells of the clam, Laternula elliptica around it.
