Point lying 3 mi NW of Cape Conway on the SW side of Snow Island, in the South Shetland Islands. It was named Low Point by DI personnel on the Discovery II in 1935, but this name has not since been used. In order to avoid duplication, a new name was applied by the UK-APC in 1961. Monroe Point derives from Monroe Island, the name used for Snow Island by sealers in the 1820s.
