A massive mountain, over 3,000 m, standing just S of Mount Albert Markham and overlooking the head of Flynn Glacier, in the Churchill Mountains. Discovered by the BrNAE (1901-04) led by Scott, who named it for Sir George S. Nares, captain of the an Arctic expedition in 1875-76, and a member of the Ship Committee for Scott's expedition.
