Feature type: Massif
This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer.
The sealers' name for a peak on Heard Island, recorded in the text of the Challenger Narrative and adopted in later editions of Admiralty Chart No. 802 in preference to Emperor William Peak which had apparently been proposed by the officers of the Arkona. The name is now applied to the whole massif and the prominent peaks are separately named.
