Heights rising to c. 800 m between Lassus Mountains and Debussy Heights, N Alexander Island. Photographed from the air by RARE in 1947, mapped from air photographs by FIDS in 1959, and surveyed by BAS, 1975-76. Named after John Sutton, Professor of Geology, Imperial College of Science and Technology, London University, 1958-73; Dean Royal School of Mines, 1965-68 and 1974-77; member of the BAS Scientific Advisory Committee, 1970-85; member of NERC, 1977-79; Chairman, British National Committee on Antarctic Research, from 1979.
