A meltwater lake 3 mi SW of Lake Ober-See. It occupies the S part of the large cirque indenting the N slopes of the Gruber Mountains in central Queen Maud Land. Discovered by the GerAE under Ritscher, 1938-39, who named it Unter-See (lower lake).
